 Dr. Scheuermann was born in Franklinton, Louisiana. He and his family moved to Baton Rouge when he was 4 years old and he lived in Louisiana’s capital city until he graduated from Baton Rouge High in 1969. He then began his studies at Southeastern University where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology. Following graduation from Southeastern Louisiana University, he moved to Davenport, Iowa and attended Palmer College of Chiropractic and graduated with his doctorate in Chiropractic. Dr. Scheuermann has been in private practice for the last 31 years – 22 of those years have been in the fair city of Slidell, Louisiana.
Dr. Scheuermann is married to the beautiful Joani Jacob-Scheuermann and they have one son – Benjamin, and one dog. Dr. Scheuermann is very active in his church: Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Slidell. He plays guitar and bass in the church’s contemporary praise band (Crosswalk). Dr. Scheuermann strives constantly to stay on the cutting edge in the latest concepts of chiropractic care. Most recently, Spinal Decompression for the neck and lower back degenerative conditions have provided many patients with incredible and sustained relief. Another recent therapy being used at Northside Chiropractic is nutrition therapy. The specific nutritional analysis used by Dr. Scheuermann is not based on symptoms or “whims”. This therapy is based on scientific testing beginning with blood tests. These blood test are anything but “standard”. The blood tests review over 55 different “markers” specifically geared to the individual. There is no “guessing” as to what vitamins or minerals the individual body needs. The results of the blood tests clearly indicate what specific nutrition is needed. Conditions responding well to this science-based nutrition include: Heart Disease, Type II Diabetes, IBS, insomnia, inability to lose weight, allergies, auto-Immune diseases, fibromyalgia, RLS, stomach problems – and the list goes on. It must be said that we do not claim to treat these individual diseases. What we do, is to find out what the body is lacking nutritionally and then give the patient that nutrition based on the blood test.
